In the statement from the Rockefeller Foundation, David Rockefeller described as the "one of the most influential figures in the history of American philanthropy and finance."

Rockefeller was the last surviving grandson of John D. Rockefeller who founded the Standard Oil Company in the 19th century and built a fortune that made him America’s first billionaire, the statement added.

David Rockefeller was born in New York City on June 12, 1915. Since 2004, he was family patriarch and the oldest living member of the Rockefeller family.

Rockefeller graduated from Harvard in 1936 and received a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago in 1940. He served in the Army during World War II, then began climbing the ranks of management at Chase Bank. That bank merged with The Manhattan Company in 1955.

In 1961, David Rockefeller was named Chase Manhattan's president and chief executive officer 8 years later.

In 1965, at age 65 David Rockefeller resigned after a 35-year career.

He died of congestive heart failure in his sleep at home in Pocantico Hills. A family spokesman, Fraser P. Seitel, confirmed the death.

Video grab appears to show a man purported to be Kim Jong Nam talking to airport staff, after being accosted by a woman in a white shirt, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia.

The Malaysian police said traces of Vx were identified in a preliminary lab report conducting forensic analysis of the evidence found at the crime scene. Swabs were taken from an eye and the face of the killed North Korean man by the chemistry department of Malaysia, the police said the Inspector General of Malaysia Khalid Abu Bakar said in a press release.

The police chief also said investigators were trying to establish the source of the nerve agent, including whether it was imported or produced in Malaysia.

“We are investigating it,” he told reporters on the sidelines of an event. “If the amount of the chemical brought in was small, it would be difficult for us to detect.”

He also said that one of the two women arrested in connection with the killing had suffered from the effect of the toxin. “She was vomiting,” he said, declining to elaborate.

Kim was killed by a poison last week after two female suspects assaulted him at Kuala Lumpur airport. He was traveling incognito to Macau, where he had been living for years in exile.

The airport where the attack took place will be decontaminated, Malaysian authorities said.

Khalid added that the police would sweep the locations where the suspects were for “radioactive material” without explaining why he believed any could be found. Vx is normally not radioactive, and the Malaysian authorities never mentioned any radioactive contamination possible in the case.

US fighter jets intercept unresponsive aircraft over Trump’s Florida resort. Two US F-15 jets have been scrambled to intercept an unresponsive plane that violated restricted airspace over President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. A sonic boom prompted a scare among locals who dialed 911 in panic, the air defense command said.

“The intent of military intercepts is to have the identified aircraft re-establish communications with local FAA air traffic controllers and instruct the pilot to follow air traffic controllers’ instructions to land safely for follow-on action,” the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said in a statement on Friday.

The incident took place at about 7pm ET when the two F-15s successfully re-established communication with the aircraft.

The jets raced from their base in Homestead, Florida, at supersonic speeds, creating a loud noise that alarmed local residents, the statement added.

“The intercept required the Air Force F-15s from Homestead Air National Guard Base to travel at supersonic speeds, a sound noticed by area residents, to get to the general aviation aircraft where they were able to establish communications,” the statement continued.

Tweeter users complained of the explosion-like sound.

Broward Country Sheriff’s Office asked residents not to call 911. However, 911 centers were still flooded with phone calls from worried residents.

US President Donald Trump often spends his weekends in Florida at Mar-a-Lago. His frequent visits have raised tension since they reportedly disrupt people’s lives and businesses.
